The sage frowned, it was abnormal for the young boy with his love of hyjinx and mischeif to act so sheepish. “Isa, my dear boy, what is the matter? You don’t have to answer me, but perhaps you would like to join me for some sea salt ice cream?” He was concerned to say the least.

Isa stayed quiet a moment longer. He knew that this man of all people would not press - he hadn’t pressed Ienzo to speak, for all he knew, so why would he do the same to Isa? - He gave a nod of his head, still choosing not to speak.

He knew better then to push anyone past the limits of their comfort, they would come around on their own if they wished. He simply took the young man to the ice cream and bought them both a cold treat. No strings attached, he was simply kind like that. He wondered what could have happened to Isa, to cause him to get such a precise injury on his face, or what could have broken his spirit. He didn’t ask again.

Nero was counting on him to get him this position in the castle. He had to do this. All he had to do was just stay calm and everything would be fine.-

I wanted to talk to you about perhaps one of my friends being hired as a guard.

We can always use more security here at the castle, do you believe your friend is qualified for the position?

-it certainly wasn’t what he was expecting to hear from the remarkable young boy, he was sure it would be something pertaining to his recent research, carrying a stack of papers. He was certainly ready and willing to hear his proposition about this friend, he almost always gave Ienzo everything he wished for, loving him like his own-

Nero’s more than qualified, Lord Ansem. He’s smart and very strong and I’m sure he’ll get along fine. The only issue seems to be that he doesn’t want to wear a uniform and…he’s got a slight…problem when it comes to wearing one regardless.

-Ienzo had grown to the point where he’d want to understand others and not just science. His interactions first with Isa and later everyone else had given him that. Of course, there were things going on that Ienzo wasn’t sure if he could bring up with the ruler— superficially, the pet Zorua he was harboring. A lot more importantly, Ienzo’s private research into Xehanort’s memory.-

Well, you see, my lord, he’s got these metal attachments to his back in the shape of large wings. They sort of make it rather hard to wear normal clothing. But it does allow him an extra pair of hands. He’s very proficient in the use of guns, as well. -The boy nodded eagerly.

It was working. He was getting Nero a job at the castle. Surely Lord Ansem would overlook the genocide thing that happened long in the past if he saw how good a person Nero was. How much Ienzo saw him as a good person. The child gulped gently, nervous since he’d never had to do this before-

I’m very certain a meeting could be arranged between you and he, sir. He’s looking forward to an opportunity to speak with you.

-He was really a lot more than just a friend to Ienzo. He was an older brother figure that the boy idolized. And Ienzo was determined to help Nero out.-

Oh yes, I can see how that would be cause for concern, however I don't see how there could be anyone else inside him, however he does act unlike himself from time to time, perhaps further experimentation may reveal something..

I make him do what he must to look after himself and his health, we can't have him relapsing. Otherwise when he is not with you, he spends most of his time researching hearts and ways we can keep the darkness that lurks in the heart from becoming to strong, it is of utmost important we learn how to suppress the darkness, to find ways to preserve our world and protect our people. Xehanort is a very dedicated researcher, he is always ready and willing to absorb new knowledge.
